One-Week Workshop, Dates Offered:
Session 2A (7/7/25 – 7/11/25)
Tuition: $899 $719.20 with code EARLYBIRD_25
Have you ever seen a movie that uses clay or plastic figures? The characters may be inanimate, but on the screen they come to life through photography and clever filmmaking. Particularly for young learners, storytelling through stop-motion animation fosters creativity, patience, and problem-solving skills. It empowers them to express their imagination in a fun and hands-on way, using familiar materials like LEGO. Beyond just entertainment, stop-motion introduces key concepts of timing, planning, and collaboration—skills that are valuable across many areas of learning.
This workshop introduces students to the basics of stop-motion animation using LEGO kits and the Stop Motion Studio app. Guided by instructors, students will build scenes, plan short stories, and animate their creations frame-by-frame. They will also explore simple filmmaking techniques, learning how to capture smooth movements, add sound effects, and edit their animations into finished videos.
By the end of the workshop, students will have gained practical knowledge of animation principles, storytelling, and digital tools. They will leave with their own animated project, ready to apply their newfound skills to future creative endeavors.
Projects may include: Creating a scene of a LEGO mini-figure dance party and creating a racing scene with LEGO cars
Each day [my children] come home asking, begging, pleading to keep doing what they were doing at camp.
