Level Up: Minecraft Modding
Two-Week Workshop, Dates Offered:
Session 3 (7/21/25 – 8/1/25)
Tuition: $1999 $1599.20 with code EARLYBIRD_25
Minecraft modding is a powerful way for students to engage with game development and programming concepts. By creating custom mods, they can explore intricate systems like crafting mechanics and quest design, which not only enhances their gameplay experience but also deepens their understanding of how games function. This workshop empowers students to take their creativity to the next level, giving them the tools to innovate within a familiar environment.
During this two-week workshop, students will dive into the world of Minecraft modding. They will learn how to implement complex crafting systems, design engaging quests, and modify gameplay mechanics using specialized modding tools. Through hands-on projects, students will collaborate with peers to brainstorm ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and bring their unique visions to life, all while guided by experienced instructors.
By the end of the workshop, students will have developed their own custom mods, complete with intricate crafting systems and interactive quests. They will leave with a solid understanding of modding concepts, practical experience in applying their skills, and the confidence to continue their modding journey independently.
This intermediate-level workshop does not mandate any prerequisites, and fundamental concepts will be reviewed on the first day of the workshop. For completely new beginners, we recommend the standard Minecraft Modding workshop.
Projects in this workshop may include: Creating a custom advanced crafting system or designing and writing quests
[My son] rarely talks about what he does in a camp. So when he volunteered information at the end of each day I knew he was loving the camp. The small group allowed him to get to know some of his camp peers and his instructors really well. On the last day of camp, before I even asked his thoughts, he asked ‘do I have any more camps with DigiPen this summer?’ Then he immediately went on to say he wanted to sign up for a bunch of them next summer because he learned so much.
