Game Design for Young Programmers
Ages 6-8
Dates Offered:
January 27 – April 21, 2026
Tuesdays 5:30 – 6:30PM
Tuition: $350
In this Open World afterschool program, students will develop a foundation for future programming and software development projects. They’ll develop this foundation in the context of working on their own platformer games built with visual scripting that they can be proud of and share with friends and family. Over the course of the program, students will learn about data types, control statements, and logic, and use these skills to develop their own 2D games while learning about techniques used in the software and game development industries. These techniques include following a development process, iterating effectively, and integrating design, art, audio, and programming into a single, cohesive experience.
New and returning students are welcome to join this class. New students will learn the fundamentals of game design, while returning students will sharpen their skills by building a new type of game.
