Two-Week Workshop, Dates Offered:
Session 2 (7/6/26 – 7/17/26)
Tuition: $1999 $1599 with code EARLYBIRD_26
RPG (role-playing game) worlds immerse players in epic adventures in which every town, character, and quest tells part of a larger story. Building game worlds teaches creative storytelling and design thinking, revealing how maps, characters, and narrative combine to create lands players want to explore and stories they want to experience.
Adventurers will design and build their own playable RPG worlds with original characters, engaging quests, and explorable locations. Students develop worldbuilding and game design skills while discovering how to craft towns, dungeons, and storylines that draw players in. Their ProjectFUN world becomes a complete game adventure they design and build, proving they can create the immersive worlds and compelling stories they love to play.

Creating Worlds for Games
Role-playing games (RPGs) are the “novels” of video games, with players assuming control of a central character immersed in a story. As any fiction writer will attest, worldbuilding is an immensely powerful tool for bringing a story to life. While there are large teams of professionals who develop RPGs, many developers start out creating RPGs on their own, using any tools available to craft their games.
In this Adventurers workshop, students will learn the importance of worldbuilding in games, from creating regions and characters to writing fun and interesting quests and storylines. Instructors will show students how to build engaging spaces in their worlds so players can immerse themselves in the game’s setting. Students interested in developing their narrative and design skills can eventually find themselves in an exciting career in games, TV, film, and more!
By the end of the week, each Adventurer will be able to design, write, and create their own interesting worlds, questlines, and engaging stories.
Projects in this workshop may include: Designing and implementing a town or dungeon and creating custom characters and character classes.
