Thanks to 3D printing, it’s never been easier to take something straight from the imagination and give it form in the real world. We can now design and model characters and creatures through powerful computer programs and have compact machines build them in no time at all.
This Innovators program workshop shows students how to digitally sculpt and refine three-dimensional characters in a variety of dynamic poses, actions, and attire. Instructors will help students learn the ins and outs of ZBrush, one of the most popular 3D modeling programs used by visual effects artists and video game designers.
By the end of the course, students will design a detailed character from start to finish, digitally model it, and 3D print it for use in activities like tabletop gaming or a role-playing adventure!
Projects in this workshop may include: Producing a 3D-printed, magnetic monster head or designing and modeling a Dungeons & Dragons figure.
[My son] rarely talks about what he does in a camp. So when he volunteered information at the end of each day I knew he was loving the camp. The small group allowed him to get to know some of his camp peers and his instructors really well. On the last day of camp, before I even asked his thoughts, he asked ‘do I have any more camps with DigiPen this summer?’ Then he immediately went on to say he wanted to sign up for a bunch of them next summer because he learned so much.
