Industry Guests: Mike Vaillancourt, Tami Tritz, and Jorge Antonio Jimenez
Every Open World summer workshop includes a special visit by a working professional from the industry. These Industry Guests show students how the lessons they’re learning today can connect to their future hobbies, education, or careers. Meet a few of our exciting Industry Guests below:
Mike Vaillancourt
Newly Announced Guest!
Mike is an award-winning illustrator and art director who has worked on both tabletop and video game properties such as Halo: Reach, Destiny, Shadowrun, BattleTech, and Warmachine/Hordes. He is now an Art Director on the packaging and product team for Magic: The Gathering, with the first sets he’s worked on releasing this year.
Tami Tritz
Tami is a DigiPen Dragon through and through, having attended WANIC courses on campus while in high school and later graduating with a BFA in Digital Art and Animation from the college in 2019. She now joins Open World as an Industry Guest, where she will be sharing her experiences as a Technical Artist in Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Organization.
Jorge Antonio Jimenez
Jorge is a software engineer with master’s degrees in both IT management and computer science. He’s worked on projects for major software publishers and game developers such as Microsoft, Amazon Game Studios, and Studio Wildcard, including contributions to major game franchises like Halo and Minecraft.
