Open World & foundry10 Scholarship Fund
Open World and foundry10 believe that innovation, building creative abilities, and learning through play are critically important to student development and success, both in and out of the classroom. Open World is proud to partner with foundry10 to provide greater access to our summer workshops for campers who would not otherwise have the financial means to attend.
Awards
Scholarships are awarded at a discount of 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of your camper’s workshop tuition. Awards are determined at the discretion of the scholarship committee and by the amount of funding available. Since funds are limited, scholarship awards are limited to one workshop per camper, per year. The scholarship application closes on April 26 and families will be notified of awards by May 10.
Eligibility Requirements
- Camper must be 6-18 years old at the time of the workshop
- A separate application must be completed for each camper, including those in the same household
- Multi-camper families may submit one set of support financial documentation
All scholarship applications are considered, but priority is given to families who meet some or all of the following criteria:
- Parent/guardian’s total household income is at or below 80% of the King County median household income
- Family receives benefits from an assistance program such as WIC, Basic Food, or SNAP
- Camper qualifies for free and reduced lunch program
- Camper is in foster care currently, or was during the 2023-24 school year
Here are the materials you can use in your application:
- Current or previous year’s tax return form(s) for your household
- A statement of benefits from an assistance program
- A statement of eligibility for free or reduced school lunches
- A general letter from a service provider or professional (case worker, social worker, etc.) with contact information that clearly states the family’s circumstances
