Two-Week Workshop, Dates Offered:
Session 2 (7/7/25 – 7/18/25)
Tuition: $1999 $1599.20 with code EARLYBIRD_25
Comics and manga are some of the most dynamic forms of creative media. Their popularity among many age groups means that they have a huge potential audience for artists and writers with a story to tell.
This workshop introduces Innovators to some of the unique technical and stylistic features of comic creation, from fundamental drawing principles to the laying out of the story. Instructors will show how concepts like character and background design are best incorporated into comics and manga.
By the end of the two-week session, students will have everything they need to start their own digital or physical comic or manga, plus the ability to effectively analyze graphic novels, manga, and comics.
Projects in this workshop may include: Introducing yourself with a one-page spread in two to five panels or redesigning an idol (K-pop, J-pop, Hololive, rock star, etc.)
[My son] rarely talks about what he does in a camp. So when he volunteered information at the end of each day I knew he was loving the camp. The small group allowed him to get to know some of his camp peers and his instructors really well. On the last day of camp, before I even asked his thoughts, he asked ‘do I have any more camps with DigiPen this summer?’ Then he immediately went on to say he wanted to sign up for a bunch of them next summer because he learned so much.
