Considering how much of our lives revolve around using everyday goods and products, the design of these items (and the work that goes into it) can be easy to overlook. But product design is one of the most useful skills to have in many different industries, and hands-on prototyping and 3D fabrication can be rewarding both as a hobby or a profession.
In this workshop, Innovators will gain experience with professional 3D design software and printing technologies. Instructors will help students understand how product designers approach common problems and identify what it is that consumers need in their products.
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to design and fabricate prototypes for several kinds of goods and products.
Projects in this workshop may include: Producing a custom dice roller or designing and fabricating a case/cover for a pair of headphones.
It’s awesome to sit in the pickup line and just see all the wild haired kids come out and run to tell their parents what they did today. This is an awesome thing you have created and it’s sparking little fires of joy, curiosity, and creativity in a world so run by responsibility and expectations. Free expression and exploration is magic.
