Comics and manga combine art and storytelling in a unique format wherein every panel choice matters. Understanding sequential storytelling helps students grasp the techniques behind epic battles, dramatic cliffhangers, and perfect punchlines, showing how panel layouts and character expressions work together to hook readers and control the pace of a story.
Adventurers will become comic creators by building story worlds, designing expressive characters, and laying out pages that draw readers in. Students learn how to craft dialogue that fits panels, position action for maximum impact, and use visual flow to guide eyes across the page. Their ProjectFUN comic tells a complete story from first panel to last, proving they can create the kinds of stories they love to read.
Projects in this workshop may include: Drawing a two-to-three-page adventure comic or creating a four-panel “day in the life” comic
