Roblox is an exciting game-creation platform that invites millions to unleash their creativity and dive into the world of game design and programming. By mastering Lua, the programming language behind Roblox, students will gain valuable coding skills that can lead to amazing opportunities in the tech and gaming worlds.
In this workshop, young creators will embark on an adventure through the basics of game design while learning the ins and outs of Lua programming. They’ll explore Roblox Studio and its powerful game-creation tools, discovering what makes games fun and engaging by checking out popular game modes. Working together, students will brainstorm, design, and build their very own unique games in their independent studios.
By the end of the workshop, students will be ready to launch their own games in Roblox to share with friends. They’ll not only create enjoyable experiences but also learn how to turn their creations into real products they can sell, blending imagination with entrepreneurship in the gaming universe.
This intermediate-level workshop does not mandate any prerequisites, and fundamental concepts will be reviewed on the first day of the workshop. For completely new beginners, we recommend the standard Roblox workshop.
Projects in this workshop may include: Creating a wave-based survival game or designing a mystery game with hidden clues
